First-Ever Colorless Commander Precon Coming In Special New Set

Wizards of the Coast announced today that it will be releasing four new commander precons in August of this year in a brand-new set, called Commander Masters. Of these four precons, there will be a colorless one, which is a first for Magic: The Gathering. It will be built around Eldrazi and is called Eldrazi Unbound.

It's said that the deck will contain a brand-new Commander as well as ten brand-new cards. That's all the info we have about this particular deck at the moment but I can speculate as to what we may see (and what we may not) see inside Magic's first Eldrazi precon.

The Includes

If I were building an Eldrazi Commander precon here are some of the cards I'd include. So, in other words, I expect these will all be in the 99 of "Eldrazi Unbound."

Creatures

Without knowing the specifics of the Commander here are some creatures I think will be included:

Non-creature Spells

The non-creature spells will be where I think we'll see a lot of the new cards.

Lands

There are a ton of good colorless lands that could go into the new Eldrai precon. Here are a few that I'm expecting.

The New Commander

Eldrazi Unbound is going to have a brand-new never before seen commander at the helm. So, this means we're almost guaranteed to be getting a new Eldrazi legend for EHD players to build around. Let's take a few guesses as to what it might be.

Something that cares about Exile

The Eldrazi are known for being able to interact with cards in Exile. Considering the name, "Eldrazi Unbound" I think it would be reasonable to see a commander that could exile Eldrazi, allow you to cast them, and generate some value when you did. Something similar to Ingest, for example.

However, given that it's so high up on Mark Rosewater's "Storm Scale" meaning the mechanic is unlikely to return it would likely be a similar mechanic with a twist. Something similar to how Infect was reimagined with Toxic.

Some Cards I Don't Think We'll Be Seeing

These are cards that I'm betting will not see reprints in the deck. Mostly for budget reasons. That said, I hope I'm wrong about some of these.

Conclusion

A colorless Eldrazi precon comes as huge news and will surely be a smash hit amongst Commander players. I would not be surprised at all to see these four newest precons be the most popular of the year. I hope you enjoyed some of my speculations as to what Eldrazi Unbond may contain. Comment down below and let me know what cards you're hoping to be printed here and what you think the Commander will be like.
