Commander Masters Set Information

Commander Masters is the next upcoming Masters set compilation intended for the Commander format. It will be available in both boosters and decks, and both products will have the same official name. Its official release date is on August 4, 2023.

Set Size: 130 commons, 135 uncommons, 135 rares, 35 mythic, 1 special (431 total)
Release Date: August 4, 2023

Commander Masters boosters will be sold in 21-card Draft Boosters, 17-card Set Boosters, and 15-card Collector Boosters. Each Draft Booster will have three non-foil Legendary cards, plus a regular Foil Legendary card (uncommon and higher) of random chance. At least two to four Rares will be available, plus one additional Rare or Mythic Rare. Lastly, the booster will also contain one regular Foil card of any rarity.

Other goodies include:

• Borderless (Frame Break) cards
• Textured Foils
• Etched Foils (only available in Collector Boosters)

Commander Masters Commander decks will feature brand new cards, the centerpiece of which would, of course, be a new commander. There will be a total of four decks to choose from.

Special Drafting Rules for Limited

Due to the unique deck-building requirements for Commander, Limited format games for Commander Masters will have the following modified rules:

• Three draft boosters per player.
• Two cards are taken for every pick.
• Target card quantity for the deck is sixty (60)
• Singleton rule does not apply.
• Players may always use one or more Prismatic Pipers as a commander, even if they didn't draft one.
• Most importantly, players can play any two mono-colored or colorless legends as though they have Partner.
