Control
An Esper Control for Theros: Beyond Death arena standard. Based on using instant speed counterspells to disrupt the opponent, then finishing with Liliana, Dreadhorde General
.
NEW CARDS
- Agonizing Remorse
: Cheap hand control attached to graveyard hate. - Ashiok, Nightmare Muse: Creates a blocker, along with bounce removal and hand control. Ultimate is decent for finishing games.
- Erebos's Intervention: Powerful removal and life gain, while also being useful in both the early and late game. Bonus graveyard hate.
- Kunoros, Hound of Athreos: Great stats on a vigilance, menace, lifelink creature, that can deal with escape, jump-start. etc.
- Thassa's Intervention: Flexible counter spell and card draw. Replacing Chemister's Insight.
- The Birth of Meletis: Curves nicely into Teferi, Time Raveler and can save you from getting land screwed, with a blocker for Teferi, Time Raveler and life gain.
- Temple of Deceit: Dual colored land with scry. Only running two since it enters tapped, but may add more.
- Heliod's Intervention: Helps deal with enchantment heavy decks.
REMOVAL/COUNTERS
- Murderous Rider: A body with life gain which has an adventure which destroys creatures and additionally planes-walkers.
- Absorb: Cheap counter spell which also has life gain attached. May swap out for Sinister Sabotage.
- Mortify: A Murder which can destroy enchantments in addition to creatures.
- Kaya's Wrath: Powerful sweeper with life gain.
OTHER CARDS
- Liliana, Dreadhorde General: Can deal with up to 2 opponent creatures, draws you cards, and can make blockers— while additionally being an amazing finisher.
- Narset, Parter of Veils: Really great for keeping your opponents hand empty and pulling your counter spells out.
- Teferi, Time Raveler: Card draw attached to bounce removal, while also disabling instants and flash creatures.
- Thought Erasure: Allows you to see the opponents resources, and discard any key spells they’re holding. Bonus surveil.
SIDEBOARD
- Cry of the Carnarium: Cheap sweeper which can deal with Cauldron Familiar.
- Dovin's Veto: Can counter non-creatures for a cheaper cost, while also being nice in a control mirror.
- Enter the God-Eternals: Life gain, board pressure, mill, and removal.
- Tyrant's Scorn: Cheap early game removal for aggro decks.

I don't like Birth of Meletis here. For Birth of Meletis, the payoff is too slow and little.
