Samut, Vizier of Naktamun and Urabrask's Forge join the red mayhem making the deck more dangerous than ever before!

Introduction

This is a red aggro deck splashing green for Samut, Vizier of Naktamun and utilizing Urabrask's Forge as deck tech. This is yet another evolution of my Gruul aggro deck. In this version, I removed all 4-mana creatures and added 1 Samut and 1 Urabrask's Forge to keep the mana curve low.

Samut, Vizier of Naktamun and Urabrask's Forge are actually a nice combo, since the token from Urabrask's Forge gives you a card when Samut is in play.

Format

• The deck is for the Standard format, as of October 2023, with Wilds of Eldraine being the last legal set.
• The deck is probably Tier 1 or Tier 1.5 caliber.
• The deck can be played in both Bo1 and Bo3.
• The deck is pretty fast, and thus it's suitable for quickly grinding a large number of wins in the MTG Arena ladder.

Main Deck Synergies

Charming Scoundrel and Goddric, Cloaked Reveler

Charming Scoundrel and her Wicked Role token count as two permanents, wherefore playing her while Goddric is in play will trigger his celebration ability.

Goddric, Cloaked Reveler and Sokenzan, Crucible of Defiance

Channeling Sokenzan creates two permanents, and therefore it will cause Goddric's celebration ability to trigger.

Goddric, Cloaked Reveler and Urabrask's Forge

The token creatures created by Urabrask's Forge help Goddric to turn into a dragon more easily.

Monastery Swiftspear and Urabrask's Forge

Urabrask's Forge boosts Monastery Swiftspear when played, because it is a non-creature spell.

Samut, Vizier of Naktamun and Sokenzan, Crucible of Defiance

The tokens created by Sokenzan also trigger the card drawing ability of Samut, turning the channel land into a potential "draw two cards" effect.

The token creatures generated by Urabrask's Forge trigger the card drawing ability of Samut.

Urabrask's Forge and Witchstalker Frenzy

The token creatures created by Urabrask's Forge help to bring the mana cost of Witchstalker Frenzy down.

• End the Festivities — Against token decks.
• Lithomantic Barrage — Against Raffine, Scheming Seer and Haughty Djinn.
• Abrade — Against artifact decks. It may also be used as a 2-mana instant speed removal.
• Obliterating Bolt — Against Dennick, Pious Apprentice // Dennick, Pious Apparition, Mosswood Dreadknight, and Tenacious Underdog.
• Outland Liberator // Frenzied Trapbreaker — Against artifacts and enchantments.
