Historic Brawl - Niambi Control-Tempo Hybrid
Control
I used to play Azorius control from time to time. Now I hate this archetype - in fact, you could easily tell from my other lists that I always build with control in mind.
But for Niambi I make an exception.
This is an Azorius control deck that:
- Opens with lots of turn 1 plays;
- Has the frickin' Witch's Oven, and it works BEAUTIFULLY. 'Nuff said.
Some cards like Banish into Fable almost turn it into a tempo deck, together with cards like Baral's Expertise and Discontinuity. It sort of feels like an hybrid depending on the situation - also, buying time with food tokens while doing absolutely nothing, in conjunction with the Ring, could be considered as a fog effect as well, to a degree.
There are various synergies, like Tezzeret sac'ing foods and clues for free, or the only Teffari I can stand (the 4 mana PROACTIVE one) can untap a Lotus/Archway, the Ring and a creature reanimated by Niambi at the same time, but it's nothing too complicated, so I don't feel an explaination is required. I'll let you figure out the rest yourself.
For all the hopeless spikes that somehow play brawl (I know, doesn't make any sense), the current winrate is 74%, precisely 31-11 for a total of 42 games played so far.
