I tried to do a mono blue for Merfolks but the decks always have problems to finish the game quickly enough. Then i found "Baral's expertise". And it works pretty well! There's a lot of creatures and/or artifact out there, and it helps a lot to buy time to "finish" the game.
The deck isn't very hard to understand : you have little Merfolks that are unblockable or able to fly, and with the "Curious obsession" it is easy to draw. Merrow reejerey and merfolk trickster helps you to immobilize opponent's creatures or to untap your islands, seafloor oracle can helps you to draw A LOT! Then, Stern dismissal, wizard's retort, jwari disruption and Baral's expertise helps you to get rid of big threats! Glasspool mimic is a very good add to have another merrow reejerey or merfolk trickster on the table!
