Historic - Magecraft-Virtue OTK (Izzet alt. vers.)

26 2 26

Control Combo

Same exact concept as the Sultai version, but this time in Izzet. You can check that version if you're curious about the deck's objective, but in short: Virtue of Knowledge is a completely broken card that allows to ramp for 3 and even to provide infinite magecraft triggers, if some basic conditions are met.

Ral here counts both as a combo piece (can go infinite even with just 1 clover and 1 virtue if you use the -2 ability, for example) and, of course, as a wincon thanks to its passive. The downside of this version is that there's no lifegain and the ring can protect the opponent from Ral's passive.

However, it's scary fast and feels somewhat more consistent. Just keep in mind that it will be difficult to handle complex board states - especially true against tokens decks.

Enjoy!
