Historic - GOLGARI ULAMOG (to mythic #698)
Control Combo
Golgari Ulamog OTK combo deck.
The Emperor of Bones cheats in an Ulamog, the Defiler, with annihilator 10.
It happens on turn 3 or 4. An technically it's even possible on turn 2! This is how:
- turn 1: Stitcher's Supplier mills an Emperor of Bones and an Ulamog, the Defiler.
- turn 2: Revive Emperor with Unearth. Exile Ulamog. Put a counter with Revitalizing Repast on the Emperor.
- then you win on turn 3 if they didn't surrender yet.
I'm working on the best Ulamog deck in Historic BO1 for a while now. This one is the best so far because it's a very versatile deck.
A lot of control cards that can handle with artifacts and enchantments.
A lot of removal for little creatures that are meta like boros decks.
A lot of hand disruption cards against counterspells and control decks.
A lot of ways to search for lands, creatures and in general combo pieces.
A lot of cards to counter the weaknesses of this deck, easy accesible with Assemble the Team:
- Overlord of Balemuk if they remove all Ulamogs from game with Surgical Extraction. Some nice damage with Emperor's ability.
- Bone Shards as an extra discard outlet and against problematic creatures or planeswalkers.
- Noxious Revival against Surgical extraction or other removal cards.
- Bojuka Bog as graveyard hate.
- Boseiju, Who Endures against leyline or artifact decks, to stall just enough time to combo off.
- Phyrexian Tower in the right circomstances let's me also combo on turn 2 or 3.
One nice little trick. Emperor can use it's ability twice. First use his own ability. Then use Revitalizing Repast for an extra counter and effect!
Side note. I see many versions and a Dimir version seems really powerful and seems meybe better. I tried it, but i found more succes with this deck. Suits the meta better i think.
