ニッポンではゴールデンウィーク、そしてアメリカではシンコ・デ・マヨ。
2025年のシンコ・デ・マヨは3日連続の興行で、1つはニューヨーク、1つはサウジアラビア、そして最後の1つはラスベガス。
3daysの大トリを飾るのは井上尚弥です。ただ、これはアメリカ時間で日曜日の夜、という時間帯なので、いつもビッグマッチがある土曜日の夜というのはやっぱりカネロである、という事実もあります。
ここはそろそろ逆転してほしいところでもありますが。
さて、ということで今回は、5/4（日本時間5/5）に開催される、井上尚弥vsラモン・カルデナスの一戦をプレビュー。

もはや多くの説明を必要としない、未だ無敗の2階級Undisputed王者、「モンスター」井上尚弥。そういえば富樫アナ炎上してるみたいですね。まあどうでも良いですが、なにかが発信されると私も私もとなるのはどうにも気持ちが悪い。
ともあれ、井上尚弥vsラモン・カルデナス。
もともとはアラン「ダビ」ピカソとの対戦だったわけですから、カルデナスは一応「代役挑戦者」という位置づけになります。が、発表時期から逆算して、「代役」と呼ぶには十分な準備期間があったと思います。
カルデナスは奪われた主導権を取り返したり、接戦をものにしたりと多くの厳しい経験を積んでいるボクサーです。
総合力の高いボクサーであると同時に、やりづらさもあり、さらに作成遂行能力も高い、ということが推察され、おそらくリングIQも高いでしょう。
人気面ではピカソに劣るものの、その実力はピカソ以上であり、プロスペクトの中でも「大事に育てられたわけではない」26勝というのは世界ランカーとして非常に説得力のあるものです。
