Hey guys, it's me JackBort and we are back for another jank combo deck.
Last time we talked about hordes of scarabs, obelisk spiders and evil physicians, so let's try something lighter this time with a blink deck! For this reason we are using the new J:HH cards Soulherder
, Man-o'-War
and Teyo, Aegis Adept
.
The main course:
At the center of this deck we have the following cards:
- Soulherder
is, simply put, the MVP here, providing value thanks to the other creatures ETBs and his perpetual growth each time we blink stuff; - Teleportation Circle and Thassa, Deep-Dwelling can help us grow our Soulherders;
- Ephemerate is a blink spell for 1 mana that we can also use reactively to counter opponent removal spells.
Combos you can pull of with this deck:
- Teyo, Aegis Adept, or to be more precise Lumbering Lightshield, can be used to increase the cost of a random spell in the opponent's hand so of course we are going to abuse its crazy ETB effect :P ; if you don't have Teyo or mythic wildcards you can use Lumbering Lightshield;
- If you thought that constantly increasing the CMC of our opponent's spells was nasty I present to you the "No, you can't play THAT" combo with Elite Spellbinder and Drannith Magistrate, you just need a blink engine to start exiling cards with the Spellbinder and you are set to go.
Filling the gaps:
Since we need 60 cards in our deck and we have all these blink effects I opted for these cards:
- Professor of Symbology, probably the best Strixhaven uncommon, gives us access to lessons (Reduce to Memory is really good here thanks to the bounce effect we have in our deck) and because of that it's useful to blink;
- Priest of Ancient Lore is our card draw/lifegain engine;
- Barrin, Tolarian Archmage and Man-o'-War help us survive by bouncing opponent's creatures;
- The Birth of Meletis, combined with Environmental Sciences provided by our professors, let us get away with just 22 lands (even though our curve is still pretty low) and can help us survive by giving us a 0/4 wall that can be buffed with Teyo.

Overall I find this deck very fun but also fairly strong especially against creatures deck since you can stall out the game by bouncing their creatures; if you want to stall the game even more you could add Memory Lapse
, but that would be too evil even for me... maybe.
