Intro/Warning:The sideboard has not been tested. This is only being used in Bo1 at the moment. This is not an optimal list, just the best I can with my current collection. I am sure you can find optimal Dimir Control on sites such as MTGGOLDFISH, or from MTGA streamer. For example, the Dimir Guildgates should be shock and check lands instead. The deck is work in progress, but I have been able to go infinite(averaging 4.3 wins from 12 runs) in the constructed event
Game plan: The game plan is to discard cards from the opponents while simulatenous accumulating card advange using Disinformation Campaign and finish with Doom Whisperer and Dream Eater. The sweepers help keep wide board decks at bay, while Fountain of Renewal helps survive against burn decks before they run out of gas. The The Eldest Reborn and Vraska's Contempt fight of any planeswalkers or reoccuring creatures such as Rekindling Phoenix.
Match ups:
Izzet drakes: Favored. They cannot revive the Arclight Phoenix if they have not cards in hands to cycle.
White Weenies: Favored. There are enough golden demises to clear their board and kill Adanto Vanguard. Fungal Infection also 2 for 1s their creatures most of them.
Merfolk aggro: Favored. Due to the same reasons as white weenies.
Mono-red: Unfavored. The fountains are the key. Landing them early with the sweepers to destory their creatures, and counter for Experimental Frenzy is what wins the game. The heal from Vraska's Contempt can also help.
Mono-blue: Unfavored. Their board is hard to clear to due the various counters they run, and they can gain card advantage due to Curious Obsession. If they tap out, and we can clear, we can win.
Jeskai Control: This match up has not come up enough to say how we do against it. Current record is 2-1.
Golgari Midrange: Even. We have enough removal to make it through. Doom whisperer can trade evenly with Carnage Tyrant and be brought back with Eldest reborn and Memorial to Folly. Most of their small drops can be cleared with Golden demise except Wildgrowth Walker, but we have Ravenous Chupacabra to deal with those.
Notes:
The board sweeps are switchable between Golden Demise and Ritual of Soot. Golden Demise works better against white weenies and token based decked, while Ritual of Soot works better against golgari midrange and merfolk aggro.
2 Search for Azcanta // Azcanta, the Sunken Ruin have been swtiched with 2 Fountain of Renewal due to the prevelance of mono-red in the contstructed event Bo1
2 The Eldest Reborn have been swtiched with 2 Ravenous Chupacabra because the chupacabra comes out a turn earlier.
