I would use the other Sorin: 1) Since you curve out at 3, you don't need to cheat anything. The other Sorin, -X to return creature from graveyard is more useful. 2) Direct/damage life gain +1 requires the sacrifice of a Vampire, a steep cost for 3 damage.
