Aggro

Update 4:  Decided to give Klothys another shot in my main.  It worked about as expected, with it winding up a winner in some and a loser in others.  I think it's situational and best in the sideboard.  I went ahead and added 2 more temples.  The delay USUALLY isn't a factor, drop em first turn if you don't have pelt collector, or a means to build it up, then add them when you don't need the extra mana.  In the mean time the extra mana fixing helps the deck, especilaly with the double green and red costs.  I've modded the sideboard extensively and feel that this is the last work I'll do on this list.  This deck is competitive against anything though there are obvious good and bad match ups.  Even in a bad match you've got a fighting chance.  (mono black knights is a tough one for example)  Good luck to you.  Comment on what you'd like to see me build next.  Please remember I only handle red and green.  I might splash another color but i prefer play with agressive colors prone to quick games.

Update 3: The stonecoils have been amazing!  Considering dropping domri from the main and moving the extra copies in.  But I want to spend some time looking if I can find something else that will either solve a problem or make the deck that extra bit leathal/resilient.  I'd love to hear ideas.  Hit Platinum today, record 7 and 1 getting there.

Update 2: Added stonecoils cause I'm salty about dream trawler.

Update 1:  Changed the list up somewhat to be bigger and faster.  Still haven't figured the mana base out.  When it curves smoothly its tough to stop, but consistent it is not.  Still, nearly made it to mythic with this list this season.  Hopefully will get there next time around.  (highest tier 2 4 point diamond)

Hello again!

So the various incarnations of my previous deck mowed through gold and platinum, but hit a roadblock at diamond.  Gruul Adventures, it seemed, had hit it's peak.  It's a beast when edgewall innkeeper has the party going, but that isn't dependable for every game.  So I decided to go with a more aggro list while trying to maintain the wipe insurance that the gallia/anax combo offer.  Aside from that, Gallia acts as card advantage along with robber of the rich.  Lots of haste to get in under removal.  Phoenix of ash offers recursion, evasion, and a mana sink that goes great with embercleave.  Overall this deck is more likely to be forced into topdecking than my Gruul Adventures list, but it's faster and maintains some of the key elements.  You want to apply pressure early and make them waste removal on smaller threats to clear the way for the larger stuff.

Edit:  I've tried domri in this list taking out 1 anax and 1 gallia.  You could too, but I didn't feel like I was getting enough out of the slot.  If you ran a version with a hellkite, domri makes a bit more sense, since it can help you curve into a turn for hellkite.
