This is a spicy combo deck for standard. I will start off by saying I kind of hope this does not become popular because it is really not fun to play against. It is not common to see a full prison deck be possible in current standard Magic but this deck is capable of a near complete board lock. The main hook of the combo is to play artifacts and planeswalkers which are not destroyed by Phyrexian Scriptures. You will want to wait until you are able to play Phyrexian Scriptures followed by Fall of the Thran on the following turn. Due to how the stack works in magic, this basically causes a board whip of all creatures and lands. Since the Phyrexian Scriptures trigger happens first on upkeep, your opponents graveyard is exiled before the second trigger of Fall of the Thran activates. This allows you to get four lands back from your graveyard while your opponents gets none. If this is not enough, you can also use Blink of an Eye and Teferi, Hero of Dominaria to tuck your saga's back into your hand/library to repeat the effect. Once you opponent has no permanents in play and little chance of gaining a board state back they will likely concede. If they don't then it is time to get creative! My personal favorite is to use a single Karn Construct token to do one damage per turn!
While the main combo consists of resolving a Phyrexian Scriptures the turn before Fall of the Thran, there is an alternate combo available if you are having trouble finding Phyrexian Scriptures. If you have a better board-state than your opponent and simple want to shut them off, you can resolve Fall of the Thran and bounce it back to your hand using Blink of an Eye or Teferi, Hero of Dominaria. This creates an effect very similar to Armageddon which is unlikely to see a reprint in standard.
The dicision between Golden Demise and Ritual of Soot was a tough one and it seems pretty matchup dependant. One weakness of the deck is that aggro decks can outpace the Phyrexian Scriptures second trigger with a good draw. I see a lot of aggro currently and since Golden Demise can deal with indestructable creatures such as Adanto Vanguard it seemed like the correct choice. It also has a CMC of 3 as opposed to 4 which helps even out the curve although this was more of an afterthought.
Both Board the Weatherlight and Anticipate are good combo enablers because they are cheap "tutor like" effects what allow you to find the pieces required for the combo on the early turns. Board the Weatherlight doesn't work in a lot of combo decks due to its someone narrow targeting but this combo is all historic!
The Skittering Surveyor is the card most likely to be replaced in this current list. The big benefit that Skittering Surveyor adds to this list is that it is helps with both mana fixing and hitting all of your land drops. Also, Skittering Surveyor is an artifact creature so it is not destroyed by Phyrexian Scriptures. I have yet to find a better replacement for Skittering Surveyor in standard for this list but I do not doubt it is possible.
Something important to note: If you are going to play Fall of the Thran with more than 6 mana in lands available, you are going to want to "float the mana" by tapping all of your lands before you resolve Fall of the Thran.
