I love control and I love Esper. This deck is not so different from all oder UBW control list and maybe it's not so perfect fort the Quick play(but depends on the meta) but I think it can be a thing in competitive, due to our access to the sideboard. The whole thing that make me love this deck is the main presence of Duress. Discarding a card (even non creature) is very good of course but spying on the hand of our opponens can save our game. Often I'm afraid on playing something, sure that my oppo have one or maybe two counter for my Teferi but a Duress in the right moment can solve the situation (maybe he didn't have anything in that moment, maybe on Disallow isn't enough), so it's super powerful on t1 but even in the middle of the game.
Against super aggro decks, this list can suffer but still have something to say (4 Fatal Push, 2 Settle the Wreckage and for big drop like Azoreth we run Vraska's Contempt), then again, some aggro are too quick for this deck, but we have side!
With 2 Cast Down, Yahenni's Expertise (against Mono R and Knights it's basically a wrath of god on t4), 2 other Settle the Wreckage, Cleansing Nova and 2 Essence Scatter, in addition we have 2x Lyra, her lifelink can be super sweet in awful situation and...well, if aggro still wins maybe it's only bad luck O_ò
Against Control deck we can always put in +2 Negate and the fourth Duress, Committ//Memory can save us from mill decks (along side Cleansing Nova, who can destroy all the Psychic Corrosion and/or Fraying Sanity... I know, probably they'll mill the Nova, but still)
Of course the winning conditions are Teferi's Emblem and damage with Gear Hulk (the Scarab God can help us to reanimate those big guys)
