Standard - Golgari Graveyard v3

Deck made for bo1 on arena. It's quite fun because opponent does not expect one of finishers. The core idea is to have as huge graveyard as possible, and as fast as possible. But don't be fooled - do not sacrifice creatures because sometimes it's better to keep them idling for a single turn and suprise on another.

Game plan is divided into few phases. First phase is building a graveyard while taking chunks of life from opponent. It's important to note, that each of these 1 life taken by rats or supplier might be either winning or loosing the game. I really like Glowspore Shaman's power, because it's great creature for trades. This phase is also about building as high mana base as possible.

This phase is finished when opponent got about 12-14 hp. Sometimes it's not possible (lifegains or high-toughtness wall), for that scenario there's another plan. The second phase is trying to get Journey to Eternity flipped. If succeeded, we got a very high probability of winning. Each turn we might be able to call Izoni, then sacrifice her, then call her again, etc. In other scenarios, we could respawn Chupacabras or Plagecrafters turn by turn weakening defences. And of course, the cherry of this cake - Lotleth Giant. If opponent got <= life than we creatures in a graveyard, it's done.

If Journey to Eternity is not flipped, we might use Memorial to Folly to retrieve creatures. The situation here is a bit more complex because we need to sacrifice this land and use mana resources to put creature on the ground. Memorial to Folly into Molderhulk into Memorial to Folly again works great, but it's not always possible.

For decks with counter spells the game is not over. We need to deceive them to use as many counters as possible before we spawn Lotleth Giant. The other time to call this card is when opponent is doing too much things and is tapped out.

As I said, this is mostly suprise deck, so it probably won't work in bo3. For bo1 it's a pleasant feeling when you win having 1-3 hp and opponent thinking the game is won.

What I like about this deck? The general strategy is pretty simple - to build graveyard, mana base and utilities to retrieve stuff from it, but actual game plan is very flexible. It's deception + lotless, it's unbreakable wall of each turn izoni's, etc, etc.

What the deck is mostly missing is any utility to deal with fliers. One solution is to replace Plague Mare with Kraul Harpooners.
