This deck is the base of a mono white prison deck. I am testing it with a janky mana base including most of the memorials. My goal is to complete it once War of the Sparks hits the shelves. The future set is extremey promising for a standard prison deck with Blast Zone, Emergence Zone, Mobilized District, Karn's Bastion, Karn, the Great Creator, The Wanderer... Everything needed to complete this deck.
This deck is still a work in progress.
Our goal is to deplete the opponent of resource, locking their most important threats under Ixalan's Binding and making useless their planeswakers or key cards with Sorcerous Spyglass. Thaumatic Compass // Spires of Orazca makes the combat step a nightmare for the opponent, they are forced to choose between playing around Settle the Wreckage and having their creatures do almost no damages, or get their board exiled. Field of Ruin is also a great land to punish the tri-colored decks in the current meta which rely on a greedy manabase.
The deck relies a lot on these board wipes to stay alive. Making sure they resolve is probably the key to victory in creature heavy matchups like mono white and gruul stompy decks.
I am a huge fan of Crucible of Worlds. Here it serves as a small value engine with all the memorials. The deck includes one copy of each except Memorial to Unity to take advantage of it, alongside Field of Ruin and Evolving Wilds. The deck does not play many creatures. Daring archeologist is mainly here to get back destroyed artifacts, but it can still serves as a good body.
Once the game is locked or the board is empty, we can start making gigantic constructs with Karn. Memorial to Glory and Crucible of Worlds create two 1/1 tokens each turn to start an army of tokens! Chamber Sentry is the most janky finisher, but the most fun to play and its recursivity makes it a great threat.
As it is, the deck is clearly janky. It relies too much on its board wipes to survive against aggressive decks, its only tool against mono red is Fountain of Renewal in the main deck. Golden Guardian may be a good inclusion as an additional blocker, but the lack of creatures in the deck makes it difficult to flip. Once it is flipped, it is much more potent than the Memorial to Glory and Crucible of Worlds loop. We could argue that Dawn of Hope is a better card that does this by itself, but it does not convince me: artifacts are currently more difficult to remove from the board than enchantments because of Mortify.
PS: Maybe it is only a trouble on my side, but I can't get the description hints to work here... the card pictures don't appear (names marked with {}). Please tell me if you know what causes this!
