Arena Standard - Umori's Song v2.0
Combo Jank
This is a list of points to keep in mind when playing. They are in no particular order, and they are all important.
1) Draw and scry your way to Song of Creation
. Use lifegain Land Enchantments to ramp and survive the early game, even if you have to spend Mirrormades on it.
2) Play Ominous Seas
whenever possible. NEVER cycle those unless you run out of draw and scry cards.
3) Play Song, dump whatever you can. try to get Enhanced Surveillance
online before digging too deeply, or you will deck out.
4) Make blockers with Ominous (multiple songs make this more and more efficient) until you have enough to kill the opponent.
5)The turn after you cast Song, play Umori to draw 2 and dump the cheapest things you draw first. This is the turn where you try to stabilize.
6) Play as much as you can each turn until you get through, playing more songs as often as possible or copying them with Mirrormade.
7)Keep in mind there are only 2 Enhanced , but if you need extras the mirrormades are a multipurpose backup here.
8) ALWAYS make sure your draw for turn is a spell. If not, you may have a dead turn. Make use of the Omen of the Sea
and Omen of the Hunt
to scry before drawing. Alternatively, Medomai's Prophecy
will work. This is their main purpose in the deck after the first 2-3 turns, and the only turn you don't do this is when you cast Umori.
9) If you happen to get Wilderness Reclamation
online, save your omens for the end step whenever possible. This will likely make you deck out if you have multiple Songs up, but you can easily recycle by saving a Mirrormade or two to copy Enhanced Surveillance. Leyline of Anticipation
makes this even more important as you can easily cast your whole deck 2-3 times in a single turn with Umori out.
