Edit: added ajani, staff of compleation and wedding announcement. 90%->92% mythic. Staff of compleation is a strong maybe, bu the other two new cards perfomed well so far. The deck feels stronger and more aggressive with these additions.
Deck Tips:
First, this archetype has done terribly in my observation for many streamers and youtubers. But I think you need to know how to play it. I went from 3-11 in a previous version to be 16-15 (untapped profile), so I have come back really well.
The main thing is PROTECT your BOARD. I'll explain card choices here. You are not going to win by turn 4, it is not really an aggro deck. It is aggro, but the game can go on till about turn 6 or 7, if you win early, or longer if you have to fight. Currently I made diamond 3.
Crawling chorus is your main opener. You want the board to stick. Turn two, skrelvs hive unless you are vs red. Wait for a wide board with skrelvs hive to finish the opp. Do not rush your tokens to be wittled down.
Try play skrelv when he can be protected, then use him to force through two or more poison per turn.
Remember to play your instants as late as possible, to avoid two for one lost trades.
I've tried to use a variety of instants with overlap of use: hexproof, buffs, draw, scry, destroy (sheoldred). Even if you face sheoldred, you can win normally before she does. When needed, hold crawling chorus back as a blocker. When corrupted, skrelv's hive gives llife link to all toxic creatures.
The 3 cost 4/4 is a bit useless in this archetype, in my experience. It takes away all your mana and leaves your board open to removal. It worked much better for me to push through unblockables and then swarm in at the end.
The venerated rot priest should not be your main win condition in this version. It can be, and creates immense pressure, but focus on a turn "7" win and use rotpriest to be more of a really strong support.
Going vs red or soldiers can be very hard, especially soldiers. I went 1-2 vs soldiers and 5-5 vs red, other matchups were favourable so far.
On the lands, land flooding was so common initially that I dropped to twenty and its been much better. The other problem is drawing early four of the same card, but since I've added more variety in the instants, this seems to have stopped some.
It's a fun deck that requires thought and work. Your cards will not just win for you, you have to adapt, and again, protect the board and make it stick.
