Arena Standard - Smooth hand blue

The deck is designed to abuse the smooth hand shuffler of MTGA using an ultra low mana curve and 16 lands allows for maximum velocity and value in blue tempo.  The smooth hand shuffler will give you two lands in your opening hand the majority of the time. However, you must be willing to play 1 land hands and mulligan to 6.  An opening hand with 1 land and an Opt is gernerally playable.  Be prepared to lose games because you can’t find land and understand that it’s a trade off for having so many value cards.  If you can take advantage of the draw mechanics especially an unanswered Sea-Dasher Octopus or multiple Frantic Inventories you will likely runaway with the game.

The deck has a reasonable learning curve that requires you to understand the current metadecks so you can identify threats.  At times you will have to be crafty such as unsummoning/unsubstantiating your own creatures to pseudo-counter adventures or avoid removal.  In the mid game, with counterspells in hand I would recommend patience and cautious plays.  Almost all your actions should be played at end of your opponents turn.

My current winrate is 28-13 or 68% in play queue.  I haven’t taken this to ranked yet because I was testing it.  It is a very competitive deck and should get you to mythic.  I climbed to mythic using a similar mono blue tempo deck.
