Arena Standard - Monoblack Midrange
Midrange
Not much to say about this, it's pretty straight forward. Saw versions of this all over Bo3 ladder today, and back in the ole' Odyssey days Monoblack was one of my favorite decks(I miss Skeletal Scrying
). I'm getting tired of making 3-5 color decks anyway! Looked at a couple of lists online, and came up with this.
A lot of Japanese players are embracing Tainted Adversary
in Orzhov and Monoblack lists, and I'm gonna roll with it too. It's a great card throughout the entire game.
Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia
produces a constant stream of Deadly Dispute
targets and triggers Morbid Opportunist
.
Curse of Leeches // Leeching Lurker
is something I'm trying out, to good effect. You can always just run Graveyard Trespasser // Graveyard Glutton
over it if you want, but I find I need the health more than the graveyard hate and there's synergy with Henrika.
Bloodvial Purveyor
Just wrecks Naya/Enchant decks.
Henrika Domnathi // Henrika, Infernal Seer
has really good synergy with your decayed zombies, and is a great creature that pumps the Adversary, Leech and Purveyor.
Saw a lot of the Kamigawa dragons today on ladder(Ao, Junji and Jugan), so running Infernal Grasp
over Power Word Kill
. If you're not seeing a lot of that(or Angels) run the former. This deck has been steamrolling Goldspan Dragon
decks so don't worry so much about him.
Simple and effective beatdown. Will update with a sideboard for Bo3, but it should be pretty straight forward. Check out the maybeboard for a rough sketch.
