Our doggies are good boys and girls! Awooo! We are playing (Were)wolves on day zero.
Now, our doggies are:
- Tovolar, Dire Overlord // Tovolar, the Midnight Scourge
is an amazing draw engine and enabler. The card draw with him can be insane. Also him forcing night and with that flipping our creatures to the generally stronger side is very much appreciated. - Kessig Naturalist // Lord of the Ulvenwald gives us ramp and is a lord that buffs all our wolves and werewolves when transformed.
- Reckless Stormseeker // Storm-Charged Slasher gives our newly summoned creatures haste. We all know how good Goldspan Dragon is. and that's part de to it being a hasted creature.
- Primal Adversary is just another good 3-drop, which receives the further benefits from Tovolar and the Naturalist. When we get it later it additionally comes with a small hunting pack of additional wolves.
- While Ranger Class itself is not a creatzure, it is creating one on ETB. And we have recently seen how good it is in Green decks when leveled up. We are using it to the same effect here.
- And of course we are playing Werewolf Pack Leader, the amazing 2-drop from AFR.
And then we have, of course Arlinn, the Pack's Hope // Arlinn, the Moon's Fury
. She's making wolves, allows us to play at instant speed, ramps, or hits hasty with 5/5 indestructible. Nuff said.
Filling up we have Jaspera Sentinel
for ramp and mana fixing. Arni Slays the Troll
and Shatterskull Smashing
provide us with much needed interaction. I'm also particularly impressed with the Saga's second chapter. The one extra mana and permanent buff to one of our creatures allows us to stay on top or get on top. A +2/+2 is nothing to sneeze at when you already have 3/3 and 4/4 bodies on the field. We use Snakeskin Veil
for protection of our important creatures. And Esika's Chariot
to multiply our wolf tokens produced by Ranger Class and Arlinn, the Pack's Hope // Arlinn, the Moon's Fury.
