Hello there,
I'm a long time casual player, but by all means no expert and totaly new in pioneer. Therefore, advice is very appreciated!
I first builded an mono R deck under a budget (40€) around Hazoret the Fervent
with a dicard shell. This version is an upgraded version of this deck in the hope it can perform good at my lokal game store (after all this corona crazyness is over). It has lost the discard shell completely but instead plays more good creatures and pump spells. I thought mono R aggro is the best way to learn the meta, bevor investing in a more complicated deck.
The goal...
...is to play as much aggressiv spells as you can in the early turn and than kill the opponent with Hazoret the Fervent. Kari Zev, Skyship Raider
is a card I just like and it helps aktivate Embercleave
and the hammer of Toralf, God of Fury. I probably should play more Embercleaves, but I wanna try the Toralf (and save some money). Birgi, God of Storytelling
helps playing out spells faster and can give us cards to play later in the game.
Lava Coil
is against angels in specific (my best friend is playing angels). I dont know how good Shock
is in the current meta. I would aspekt people to play around Bonecrusher Giant
.
Sideboard Plans:
Aggro: I think my aggro matchup is ok. I probably want the aditional Lava Coil and the Ahn-Crop Crasher
Midrange: If its a creature deck I will bring Fling
and Kari Zev's Expertise
and Ahn-Crop Crasher. Against non creature decks Chandra, Fire Artisan
will help me play a longer game and I'm not atomatically dead against sweepers.
Tibalt, Rakish Instigator
and Embereth Shieldbreaker
against artifacts and lifegain.
Control: board all creatures in in the hope being fast enough (hoping they dont draw sweepers)? I don't know
