As you mentioned, this deck is one of the ones that changed the most. For the tribal theme, we have hydras since you already had a few in your original deck, and there are some Planeswalkers too. I made the deck more focused and powerful by adding more ramp and more powerful things to ramp into. There are also +1/+1 counter synergies. Here is a quick rundown.
The Ramp
Gargos, Vicious Watcher allows you to make all your hydras cost four less to cast and can make your late-game creatures huge. He is also excellent removal. Aside from this, there is a full playset of Llanowar Elves
, Elvish Mystic
, and Nexos.
+1/+1 Counters
All the hydras in the deck get +1/+1 counters when you cast them. So, cards like Kami of Whispered Hopes
, Biogenic Upgrade
, Gaea's Gift
, and Jiang Yanggu, Wildcrafter
can all work well with the creatures in the deck. We even have Llanowar Reborn
and Oran-Rief, the Vastwood
to help out.
