Upgrades
Ok, in the "maybe board," you'll find around 20 cards you could consider switching in. For the original mana base, we have six tap lands. Any number of these could be swapped for some combination of Copperline Gorge
and Stomping Ground
. With budget being no issue, four Stomping Ground and two Copperline Gorge would probably be best. However, a 3/3 split or two tap lands (in which case, keep the scrylands) and just the Copperline Gorge would be fine.
Next, I would take out Scorching Dragonfire
for Lightning Bolt
. It's half the mana for the same amount of damage and can hit players as well.
Next, I would remove both Terra Stomper
and add Carnage Tyrant
. You do take a small hit to the stats, but that hexproof more than makes up for it.
Outland Colossus
is probably the worst card in the original list. So, I suggest replacing three of the four copies with Ilharg, the Raze-Boar
. Same stats, + trample, and can cheat out your fatties whenever it attacks. I say only three because it's legendary, and you don't want to draw too many, especially because it tucks itself back into the deck if it dies.
Finally, we have Werewolf Pack Leader
. The haste on Zhur-Taa Goblin
is nice at times, but most of the time, you'll be putting the +1/+1 counter on this. So, why not play a natural 3/3 with built-in card advantage and the ability to make itself bigger?
If you do add Werewolf Pack Leader and Ilharg, the Raze-Boar, it might be a good idea to swap lands (as mentioned above) just so the double green / double red doesn't give you trouble as you curve out.
