Hey guys! If your interested in trying this out for some Brawl then I've got a few pointers for you.
First off Feather, the Redeemed is our commander as she is relatively cheap, easy to cast, and is the center of our strategy.
From here we play just like any other feather deck; casting cards like Battlefield Promotion and Samut's Sprint to value up your creatures, and cards like Gods Willing and Defiant Strike to control our draws, and keep our hand stocked.
From here we need to keep a few things in mind. For one Feather is our commander, and as such we can recast her for 2 extra mana each time she dies. This 2 multiplies with the number of times she is removed from play so she will get expensive fast. She may be the core of our strategy, but she isn't the only way we can get our instants and sorceries to do work for us. Chandra, Acolyte of Flame and Dreadhorde Arcanist can fetch them back for us, and we can use Feather's ability to bring those cards back to our hand once we are able to recur them.
Board whipes abound, and we have few ways to protect against them. Keeping Gods Willing hidden in your hand rather than casting it whilly nilly like may be key to keeping some of your strongest cards on the battle field. Justiciar's Portal is another way for us to escape spot removal. I tried out Battlefield Promotion and Nahiri's Stoneblades to see how they performed, and gotta say i'm impressed. Battlefield Promotion is a way for us to get increased value out of our creatures as we can recast it every turn for cheap, and gives us a lasting boost. Nahiri's Stoneblades let us boost two of our creatures allowing us to push through two bothersome blockers, or giving us some extra fire power on top of Hero of Precinct One's ability to let us go wide. Those 1/1's aren't all that scary, and are usually ignored giving us an easy way to sneak through 6 damage.
We ditched 1 land because honestly we dont need the full 24. That said Feather is going to draw a LOT of fire from opponent, and so we want to make sure we can cast her enough times to keep the pressure going. If you feel like your opponent has something in hand to remove her early I'd recommend holding off on her for a bit.
Feather is our win con, but we can also rely on a buffed up Tenth District Legionnaire or Fireborn Knight to push through and win the day. Hope you guys enjoy the deck! If you want to see it in action keep an eye out for me on https://twitch.tv/zerieth
Happy casting!
