Historic - Thirst for life - Mythic level on Arena
Aggro Combo
This is the deck that I played in the first Best of One ranked season 2 on Arena (Feb 2019) - there were 3 cards changed since season 1. I swapped the unbreackable formation in for make a stand and acquired 1 more clifftop retreat.
Essentially I tried to build a deck around the Famished Paladin
, Sorcerer's Wand
combo and give the Paladin lifelink using either Squire's Devotion
or Deafening Clarion
. This gives you infinite damage/lifegain.
I won about 25% of the games with the Paladin Combo, about 5% of the time on turn 4 but the deck is more than happy to play aggro/lifegain so don't hold back on your squire's devotion waiting for a paladin. There's a lot of red aggro on Arena, a turn two Adanto, turn 3 Squire's devotion is usually enough to win the game. Don't be afraid to play the Squire's Devotion on a Pridemate either, especially against white aggro as they only have 4 tribunals to exile it.
I'm free-to-play so don't have the wildcards for all the rare dual lands. They'd be a simple way to make the deck better.
With only 4 mythics and 8 rares it's pretty easy to craft so have fun and please post any suggestions for improvements.
