This deck is really close to most common Throes of Chaos deck, with a clear different goal: kill the turn you Cascade.
An issue I encounter with regular Throes of Chaos deck, is that on turn 4 you got your Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, exile two creature and still being killed by the remaining ones.
In the engine first, a slight difference: 4 Tibalt's Trickery as we may need to use several of them (on the same turn) instead of 3. We can also use the first one against Thalia, Guardian of Thraben or any silver bullet.
Then I replaced the common Magma Opus with Creative Outburst, as this will be one of our main kill in addition to a boost and a TANT (Try Again Next Turn)
As we want to kill the turn we cascade, all target card should be able to either achieve this goal, or allow to cast next card in the chain. Let see a case by case card choice:
- Chromatic Orrery: Not the best one. Allow to recast Throes of Chaos if you manage to have land in hand, or a Mind's Desire if you have an extra mana left. This can be a target of Scholar of the Lost Trove sometime
- Scholar of the Lost Trove: the BEAST. At least, you can re-cast Throes of Chaos. Most of the time you can cast one the more powerfull spell of the deck, as Tibalt's Trickery mil some card. This is also a part of the "mainboard" kill, and a target for Emergent Ultimatum
- Emergent Ultimatum: probably the best card of the deck. The first stack I use is Scholar of the Lost Trove, Mind's Desire, Omniscience. With nothing in the yard you generally end up with the Scholar and Mind Desire. Put Scholar in the stack, then MD. You got a first MD for 5 free cards, resolve Scholar on MD for another 6 (or 7?) free spell. Half of them are land however.
- Mind Desire: If this is the first spell you got after cascading, this is already 3 free spell. As 3 spell may be not enough with our land, I only play 3 of this one.
- Genesis Ultimatum: We mostly want Omniscience and Scholar of the Lost Trove on the first one, and this still allow to "draw" once the engine is fully started.
- Omniscience: With this one on board, the game is "generally" finished. Even after a big muligan, all the spell you draw are powerfull enough to launch the engine. As this is not perfect alone, only 3 of this one.
- Mastermind's Acquisition: Cascade into this ? Sad. Go get a land if you need and TANT. Later in the game you can use it to get Tendrils of Agony. As we can kill without Tendrils, I'm not sure this card should be kept here.
- Creative Outburst: Get the cascade one turn earlier. Also a TANT (get a land) when you cascade into it. And the main kill. Once you got all your deck (multiple Mind desire, Omnisience), you just play the four of that to get 20 damage, and each time you get a new card on the next 6 cards. And when this is not enough ? you replay them with Scholar! This is a potential of 40 damage main deck, all in one turn. If not enough, tutor a sideboard card.
PS: the manabase is fucked up... especially that world tree. I don't want it on first two land to be able to cast the outburst. But I can't have it on 3rd drop to cast the cascade turn 3, don't want it on 4th drop as well when I don't have outburst.
