This deck is all about the malicious delight of summoning demons through the interplay of Shadowborn Apostle, coupled with the mischievous manipulation of Nightmare Shepherd and Mirror Box. The overarching theme of conjuring demons through devoted cultists is expertly captured, rendering a straightforward yet thrilling gameplay experience.
The Creatures:
Shadowborn Apostle takes center stage, a core element driving this deck's strategy. Rally as many as you can, swiftly paving the way for potential game-shifting moves. Be prepared to embrace sacrifices if the situation demands.
Nightmare Shepherd emerges as your guardian against board wipes, while also donning the hat of a formidable aerial attacker. Its flying prowess ensures impactful blows, although it inevitably becomes a prime target for removal.
Dreadfeast Demon heeds the apostles' beckoning, a potent 6/6 flyer that multiplies its strength through calculated sacrifices, ultimately leading to a triumphant surge.
The Spells:
Deadly Dispute steps up the tempo, offering both mana acceleration and card draw to set the wheels in motion. It's a gem I wish I could feature more prominently.
Infernal Grasp takes the spotlight as precise targeted removal, an indispensable asset. Though it inflicts some harm upon us, its adaptability to dispatch any target aligns seamlessly with our theme.
Invoke Despair lives up to its ominous name, delivering a triple threat of removal, life loss, and the vital boon of card draw, often proving to be the lifeline we need.
The Other Stuff:
Mirror Box performs marvelously alongside our Shadowborn Apostles, rapidly transforming them into formidable threats by bestowing robust multipliers for each Apostle present. While the token iterations may not relish the stat enhancement, their cumulative contribution to the core non-token Apostle remains a delightful maneuver.
The Gameplan:
This strategy is rather straightforward: deploy Shadowborn Apostles and engage in combat when opportunities arise. Strive to preserve as many Apostles as possible for the potential synergies with Mirror Box or Dreadfeast Demon, or alternatively, await the presence of Nightmare Shepherd before consigning them to potential oblivion. Dreadfeast Demon often functions as the proverbial coup de grรขce, typically emerging as a final twist of fate when I've established a commanding position. However, its entry can also prove a pivotal game-altering moment. On the whole, this deck encapsulates a captivating theme, painting a somber tableau of the game's elemental essence, as you evoke the very core of your cultist-laden narrative. The gratification derived from skillfully orchestrating your sinister machinations is matchless, imbuing the game with an immersive tapestry of shadows, demons, and arcane sorcery.
