Playing
Play whenever there's 4 mana is always great!
If there is atleast 1 extort creature in play, paying for life will not matter so much per spell.
K'rrik is usually one of the cards tutored for in order to keep up with opponents when it comes to mana sources and card advantage.

K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth +Reassembling Skeleton
+ Alhammarret's Archive
+ Ashnod's Altar
+ Blood Artist
Sacrifice Reassembling Skeleton to Ashnod's Altar generating 2 colorless mana (Trigger). You gain 1 life from Blood Artist (Trigger). Alhammarret's Archive gives you an additional life. pay the 2 life you just gained with K'rrik for a swamp and use 1 of the 2 colorless mana to pay for Reassembling Skeleton's ability bringing it back to the battlefield. Now you have 1 floating colorless and you pinged your opponents for 1.
Repeat the steps for unlimited pings, gains and colorless mana!
DON'T BE AFRAID TO PAY ALOT OF LIFE
You'll gain much more in most circumstances in this deck.
