Let's break down the key components that will have your opponents crying for mercy (or at least a new playgroup).
Tokens, Tokens, And More Tokens
The deck throws down a hearty dose of token production through cards like Progenitor Exarch
, Infected Defector
, Darksteel Splicer
, White Sun's Twilight
, Sunfall
, and many more. And we're in white and want to be annoying, so of course, we're going to play Mondrak, Glory Dominus and Anointed Procession to double everything up. This gets out of hand quickly with the incubating cards in the deck.
Aside from pumping out double tokens, we also have Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines, which can double up triggers. So, now things like Defiler of Faith or Darksteel Splicer really go insane. Not to mention shutting off all of the ETB triggers for your opponents. Then there is the OG Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite. The token army will hit very hard thanks to her, and again, opponents despair because they're taking a massive loss while you gain upside.
Poison
For some reason, people think infect/poison is annoying in a format where you win for 10 damage instead of 40. I don't get it. But you better believe we're playing a healthy dose of it. In total, we have around 12 cards that naturally have toxic or produce tokens that do, plus a handful of ways to proliferate the poison counters (plus the +1/+1 counters on the incubator tokens) and the token doublers. Is the main goal win through poison? Not really? Will that have to worry about it? Oh yeah.
Stax And General Annoyance
We're not doing being mean yet. Cards like the ones pictured above, plus things like Ghosty Prison, Norn's Annex
, and Elesh Norn // The Argent Etchings
, will continue to damper opposing creatures, tax their resources, and slowly drain their life totals. Finally, we have a very solid 12 removal spells/boardwipes, and several ways to negate opposing interaction that would so rudely interrupt our party.
