[[cabal stronghold]] This is the land that gives you the mana required to win 

[[treasure map]] This is use to get tokens for mana the purpose of the tokens to cast Cards like [[hydroid krasis]] And [[banefire]]. The best line of play is not to use the 3 treasures a transformed map creates unless the enemy has threats you must address immidiatly.The reason for that is your [[chromatic lantern]] can be destroyed, if you have back up tokens to cast your spells then victory will come quicker.

The reason for banefire in the main board and sideboard is if lets say your oppenent is on a gate deck for example and has alot of life and your on the 3rd saga counter on miara conjecture ,you have mastermind in hand and you need to do a bigbane fire but dont have the mana to well you could mastermind and get two cards lets say you get bane fire and cabal stronghold now you have mana to win.

[[phyrexian scriptures]] This card is to make up for the late game removal that black lacks it can be used on a empty it will generally stall a turn out which can help been as the deck has ways to one shot a full life total or more that can be all you need.

[[mastermind's acquisition]] This is the centre peice of the deck you can grab any card from side board or libiary. This is why we run cards like [[sorcerous spyglass]] and [[chaos wand]]. Spy glass can disable a whole range of annoying cards to list you a few: Advanto vangaurd,Steam klin,any planes walker. On Curve T6 mastermind to spyglass to disable a vivien reid is a good play if you have a chromatic lanten up they have to deal with your spyglass before disabling your 5 coulour enabler. Chaos wand this card will destroy any control deck if it resolves use their own counter agnist them if they skip turn use it in their end step to send their counters to bottom libiary or steal their draw cards.

The rest of the mainboard is removal for early game threats and some late game threats.

The sideboard is finishers and sititional cards to set up a win there are alot of ways to win and its game dependent. The deck can win without using the sideboard there are alot of syngrys with [[karn, scion of urza]] -2 you can even win with this in some cames, if he goes answered your tokens could outsize [[carnage tyrant]].

[[Arch of orazca]] in sideboard is to replace [[detection tower]] in games where its not needed.

[[arguel's blood fast]] [[clear the mind]] Are sideboard option for controll match ups. A extra copy [[cry of the carnarium]] for match ups that are aggressive or go wide.

Pros: Very hard to deal with Generates Threats to protect the win con enabler [[chromatic lantern]] Has enough to win without needing to set up a combo. you could win one game with [[sylvan awakening]] and the next with a [[banefire]] or [[josu vess, lich knight]] who represents 20damage on board if kicked. This makes the deck hard for enemy to side board for. Very versitile

cons:weak vs solitaire decks like nexus you do have answers with [[unmoored ego]] it is still the decks worse match up. Not a beggainer freindly deck.

Aside from the mentioned weakness this deck can deal with the most competive decks out there and is very strong. For some reason the deck performs best vs sultai which it shouldn't because they have so many ways to disrupt the deck yet its best win record is in that match up this could be because dealing with us slows them down and we can make a bigger hydroid krasis than them.who knows?


for best of 3 is if your playing agnist counters and they not seen you own a bane fire try set up your first win with syvlan awakening makes it easier to sneak a mastermind in because if they think your win con is that it can be countered so they may be like if i let it resolve then counter his win con i get to burn 2 cards then boom bane fire.

using a clearmind on oppenent to stop a search of ascanta transforming is a good play this is not a solitare deck it is control you need to disrupt oppenents late game.

Dont give up in long control matchups this deck can produce  30plus banefire damage if given time as long as you got one red source so dont panic draw with treasure cove if there is no immidiate threat you may need the source
