Commander - Aeve's Green Puke Storm (~cEDH-my deck)

**Note to self: is Wrenn and Six in the deck...?  Check the decklist against the cards in the deck. Elven Chorusimage, and why is Recycleimage not in here...??

First and foremost, this is a toolbox deck, built to have answers to most problems you can run into.  It currently has seven cards that search for one or more creatures, and there are creatures in here that can solve most any problems.  There are also three cards that get creatures/cards back from your graveyard, tons of ways to get extra card draw (mostly on creature ETB/casts), as well as a handful of ways to pay to get more creatures from the top of your deck into your hand.  I swear there are always enough answers at your disposal that this deck simply wins a LOT.  And once you have the right pieces in play, you're off to storming into a wincon, flooding the board with various spells and permanents, and then a ton of massive creatures to cap off the explosion.  Most of the time you can give them trample and haste as well, via Akroma's Memorialimage, etc.  There are two direct ways to search for Akroma's Memorial, being Kuldotha's Forgemaster, and Inventor's Fair, both of which can likewise be searched for in various ways if needed.  And there's plenty of general ramp, enough to justify fewer lands than normal, and once Nyxbloom Ancientimage hits the board there will be an absurd amount of mana available.  Usually, when I decide to storm, I'll maybe have 5-8 nonland permanents on the board... after storming I typically have 20+ spells out by the time I cast Aeve (assuming I need to keep going that far, as fewer spells often achieve lethal on each opponent).  And with four ways to protect the casting of Aeve from counterspells (two of which are creatures you can search for), it's not hard to protect your victory.  With Silklash Spiderimage it has an answer to flying creatures, and there are lots of ways to get rid of pesky enchantments and artifacts.  It consistently wins almost all games that make it into the mid-game or later, which is often when you have control decks at the table stalling games out.  It can be fast, with a rare T5 win, but typically you won't be able to win until after T7.  But this deck does great to stall games into wins all on its own.  It's a very fun deck!  Albeit it gets a little monotonous winning the same way all the time...

So this deck operates on a few simple concepts:

-get Nyxbloom Ancient in play to amplify your tap-based mana sources (note: this highly benefits Circle of Dreams Druidimage, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyximage, Castle Garenbrigimage, Cascading Cataractsimage, Basalt Monolithimage, etc)

-get Beast Whispererimage, Glimpse of Natureimage, etc, in play to draw cards when you cast creature spells, fueling your storm.

-get Akroma's Memorialimage, etc, in play to give The Aeves haste and trample (and flying, etc) for a wincon attack

After all that... Food Chainimage goes infinite with Aeve.  You can go infinite with Cloudstone Curioimage as well, if you have enough other pieces in play (two mana dorks and a way to give them haste or let them tap for mana after being cast, paying for themselves).

Another perk is that most of the time I won't look like I'm ready to attempt a storm until Nyxbloom hits the board, then my next turn I'm off to the races.  As such, at that point, and usually with nothing too threatening in play, most people have been focusing on stopping the other threats at the table, so they often lack the cards to stop me too, and often they'll lack the ability to respond once I start storming (Dosan the Falling Leafimage, Allosaurus Shepherdimage, etc).

Again, this is a very resilient creature-toolbox deck.

Most of the peeps in my playgroup run cEDH level decks, but yet most of them are afraid to try playing with my Aeve deck, as they think it's too complex, even after seeing it pop off tons of times.  So take that for what you will.  There's a lot of depth of thought to why each card is in this deck.  It's probably my most balanced build, especially for a mono-color.

**Notes to self: Remove Strionic Resonatorimage and Veil of Summerimage, put in Tempt with Discoveryimage and Malachite Talismanimage (untap mana sources that produce more than three mana).  Add Treasure Vaultimage.  Add Dictate of Karametraimage.  Must add Wirewood Symbioteimage, Whip Silkimage and Broken Fallimage (and maybe Cycle of Lifeimage and Molting Skinimage)!!  Those are no-brainers! Also must add a Doubling Cubeimage, which triples off of Nyxbloom Ancientimage, effectively quadrupling the mana in your mana pool.  Also need to invest in Ancient Tombimage and Deserted Templeimage for this deck, as well as Concordant Crossroards.  Maybe add Exploreimage and Scale the Heightsimage?  They're great during a storm brew, allowing you to play any land, which will pay for the spell, plus draw a card to replace it.  Also great at the beginning of the game, but kind of useless once you're out of lands to play, until you storm.  Also, add Skullmulcherimage...?  Not of great value before storming, but mid/late storm it turns otherwise useless creatures into big time card draw for 5cc.  Also, put Hazoret's Monumentimage in.  It helps exchange lame-duck cards you draw during a storm for better cards, and gets you through the deck faster for Akroma's Memorial, etc.  Trade lands for card draw, helping get more creatures/spells to cast.  Maybe add Natural Balanceimage as well?  With a low land count in the deck, tons of mana dorks and ramp, and enough lands that can tap for tons of mana, especially once Nyxbloom is in play, casting Natural Balance can severely limit what your opponents can do, while leaving you space to still get a lot done.  It's good for stalling the game if you need it, and makes an early casting of Aeve more realistic (i.e. not a wincon-type storm), say if one of your opponents is popping off with a bunch of creatures early on.  And when you are in the midst of a wincon storm, once you only have five lands untapped (like Nykthos, etc), why not play Natural Balance just for fun...?  Why not demoralize your opponents a little before you trample over them...?  About adding Tempt with Discoveryimage... most players will not pass up on it, especially since it finds any land, which means you'll be grabbing all of the best mana producers in the deck, which might be adding 150+ mana to your pool over the course of your storm with Nyxbloom in play, and they'll likely be getting stuff that maybe taps to add 10 mana at best.  You just have to be able to cast it before Nyxbloom is in play, or at least before you're obviously in the midst of your storm, or else no one will bite and grab a land.  But even then you'll still get something like Nykthos, and it comes in untapped, which is great mid-storm brewing.  Shugeki, Jukai Visionary maybe needs to go in... ramps land into play every other turn or every turn with Swiftfoot Boots, etc, or draw it later and use it to get non-legendary cards back from the grave, both being very valuable to what this deck wants to do, albeit that means no Nyxbloom Ancient or Akroma's Memorial, which might be a reason to not include it.  But there are only six legendary nonland cards in the deck, so the options it can grab are probably worth its use. Plus it saves a two-land opening hand, almost assuring a third land drop on T3 [if not a fourth one as well].  Add in Elvish Reclaimerimage... use at end of opponent's turn to find essential lands [Inventors' Fair, Nykthos, Castle Garenbrig, etc].  Consider adding Tangleroot... it helps any turn you cast a creature, but might add 10+ green mana on the turn you storm, allowing an earlier storm brew.  Abundanceimage should also go in, making your storm-brew much more effecient on card draws, assuming you aren't waiting for Inventors' Fair, or waiting to drop a land.  And it obviously helps early too if land drops are wanted.  Also consider Warping Wailimage, as it's a rare mono-green access to a (sorcery) counter spell, along with providing an instant speed exiling of a wide range of "small" creatures, which can be very useful, or draw it during a storm and create an eldrazi token to sac and add 3cc... it can only help.  Especially when most board wipes are sorceries, so it can protect our board state when we need it the most.  Plus no one expects you to counter their sorcery spell when you only have two colorless mana available.  Apex Devastatorimage is an intriguing option, albeit rather worthless before you can generate tons of mana and storm.  But, you're getting five spells in one card, and casting at least one creature spell, probably at least a couple more, which should also be generating card draw... so from one card you're getting five spells and probably drawing 3+ cards... is that worth 10cc...?  Durnan of the Yawning Portalimage might also be worth adding... it helps build up some extra creatures to cast for cheap on the turn you storm.  But it doesn't help much if you draw it during a storm, sooo... maybe not?  Parallel Evolutionimage also deserves strong consideration... cast it after you storm into Aeve, doubling your Aeve tokens, and maybe cast it again from your grave, doubling your tokens again... if you only had a storm of five spells, creating five tokens, you would create five more that are twice the size, then create 10 more that are twice as big as those... from 5 to 20 in 12 mana flat... and it's usually not hard to save 5/12 mana once Nyxbloom is in play.  Ritual of Subdualimage is an interesting card to consider... it can get you to your next turn, say, after you cast Nyxbloom, etc.  Once in play, your opponents will be stuck in the mud, for the most part, likely preventing any removal, board wipes, counterspells, etc.  Then once you are ready to storm brew, don't pay the upkeep and you're off to the races.  And it unquestionably needs to be in any Aeve artifact creature deck, buying you some turns to build up your artifact board state for a sac/recur storm brew.  Put in Everflowing Chaliceimage... it's efficient ramp before a storm, and in the midst of a storm you can combine all your colorless mana sources to cast it, effectively adding 50% more when you tap it (20cc = 10 counters = 30 mana).  Maybe add in Overgrowthimage as an alternative ramp card...?  Nissa, Genesis Mageimage can replenish a LOT of mana in the midst of a storm, or provide a ton before a storm, by her +2 and untapping lands and mana dorks, netting at least four extra mana, if not 100+ with Nyxbloom and our best lands in play.  Consider adding Ley Weaverimage as well... it helps on turns before a storm, but is especially helpful during a storm, assuming lands that tap for loads of mana are in play.  Add Virtue of Strengthimage... can get a creature back from the grave to cast, then/or triple basic Forest output alongside/until Nyxbloom Ancientimage enters play.  Consider adding Summer Bloomimage.

Strionic Resonatorimage was in the deck for a while, from the beginning, because it has great synergy with Aeve's trigger, but after lots of testing, it usually ends up functioning as more of a win insurance policy, in case we're falling short on spells, etc, because, in reality, it's rarely the case that we need it.  The vast majority of the time, when I attempt to storm into a win, I win with ease without using the Resonator.  So it's more of an overkill card than something that helps us get to the win faster.  Alas, I took it out.  However, I've left in Lithoform Engineimage because it also copies most spells, which can be hugely beneficial during a storm, but it also retains that Strionic Resonator safety net as well, if needed.
