By removing Gauntlets of Light in favor of High Alert, the Bant infinite mana combo becomes more reliable because Zirda is always available and therefore the final piece of Biomancer's Familiar or Leyline of Abundance is not necessary and freeing up 8 cards in the deck for digging and removal. It is slower because of needing to spend 1UU and 1UW to finish the combo on board instead of just UG and 2W, and the additional U in the untap cost versus Gauntlets, but cutting an entire piece from the combo with Zirda seems valuable. Leyline of Anticipation could also be good for protecting the combo pieces from slow removal.
