Description

When M20 came out, I noticed even more interactive cards, like veil of summer! When I saw such an interactive card, I knew it was time to make the deck far more interactive. However I saw chandra and worried about how we should interact with her. It was then i knew we had to fight fire with the strongest card, Foun- *Ahem* Sanguine Sacrament.

The main purpose of the deck has not changed though. To interact with every attempt to interact with us. Every elderspell, vraska's contempt, mass manipulation, and prison realm shall be met with a lazotep's plating. Every veto shall be veiled or shut out by 3feri, every wincon the enemy may throw down shall be placed under an Ixalan's binding. Every combat phase shall be root snared.

To do this, we have our Queen of Recycling, Tamiyo, henceforward, Tomato. Tomato can find what we need, and bring it back from the bin. One Tomato is not enough though, so we enlist spark doubles to assist her. They start at 6 loyalty, which is perfect for a buyback then buyback another spark double.

Wilderness reclamation allows us to have highly interactive mana on our opponents turn. 5feri is also an option if you want to spend more mana accomplishing this. It also allows you to spend alot of mana healing incase there is too much life total interaction going on.

Dovin's veto is a highly interactive counterspell that serves as an "Oh no, cannot let them nova my ixalan's binding's" Card. It's a nice card to sit on.

Veil of summer is a response to those interactive dovin's veto's your opponent may be playing.

Now, while we are very good at interacting with our opponents, we need to interact with the whole 'win the game' thing. For such an interactive deck, we need a really interactive wincon. Jace, wielder of mysteries, has winning the game as a passive, which is perfect for this deck. Passively getting closer to winning the game every upkeep is a highly interactive wincon.

So, we have way's to win, to be highly interactive with anything our opponent does, now all we need is a way to defend our wincon more. This is where 3feri shine's. It allows for all those uninteractive instants you never can deal with to stay in your opponents hand. Now, there also are uninteractive permenants that may irratate you, such as blast zone, or mobilized district, even *Gasps* A bolas, dragon god, that slipped through and you used all your ixalan's bindings! This is where karn-chan comes in and saves the day with a wishboard of goodies!

Since wishboards varry, I only filled in the essentials. 3 spyglasses for pesky actives on the battlefield, a grafdigger's for annoying phoenix/frenzies (after spyglassing it so RDW's cannot destroy their frenzy >:) Meteor golem for spot cleanup, and a lantern to play around autotapper or the shuffler screwing with you.

And yes, the lands are a meme, but run 23 for the most consistant land you drew to lands you should have drawn ratio. The shuffler floods you a bit more then you should at 22 or less, and starves you at 24 or more, in comparison to how many you should have drawn. You still draw more lands on average if you run more lands. (13 land RDW is still possible in BO1)

You are now all ready to go out there and have fun and be interactive with your opponents!

For people building this with post rotation in mind:

Spyglass- No current good replacement in standard

Sanguine Sacrament: Planeswide celebration is the only other mass lifegain that comes to mind. If you like another lifegain solution, use it

Cleansing Nova: Hope for a reprint as this is also meant to clean up artifacts. Planar cleansing hoses your Tomato's, and their is no other good mass artifact and enchantment removal in standard. Doubles as a creature cleanup, but only lifeloss creatures should worry you, and there are only 2-3 creatures that have non targeted lifeloss effects, so you should be able to spare bindings for those.

Ixalan's binding: Weep that this is leaving standard. It allows you to deal with a problem once, and turn all of them into dead draws, and never worry about it again. The best substitue that fills this role is unmoored ego, and that does not affect the resolved problem, and does not add dead draws.
