Description

Wildcards Needed:
Common: 6
Uncommon: 25
Rare: 4
Mythic: 0

The majority of this deck is made up of the uncommon Planeswalkers from War of the Spark so hopefully you have been able to pick some of those up by this point to make constructing this deck easier. The only 4 rares that need to be crafted are your playset of Sarkhan the Masterlessimage. The manabase uses one rare land from the precon decks and leans heavily on Interplanar Beaconimage to cast your Planeswalkers reliably.

Overall Strategy:

This is a straightforward deck that relies on early removal and card cycling to hit your various Planeswalkers and get them to stick on the board. In most cases you will want to use the tokens created from your Planeswalkers as protection to keep them on the board so you can cast Sarkhan the Masterlessimage and turn them all into dragons for a massive damage swing!

If you are able to get chip damage in with the tokens without sacrificing your PWs then you can sometimes win as soon as Sarkhan hits the board.

P.S. This deck does not work without at least 3 copies of Sarkhan!

P.P.S. Remember the menace ability on Angrath, Captain of Chaosimage because it is easy to miss lethal if you forget about it!

Matches:

Aggro/Tempo:

Trade everything off aggressively! Be smart about it, but usually you want to use your spells and token creatures to trade with your opponents’ creatures. In most cases you can run your opponent out of resources and take over the game with the value of your PWs and finish off with a massive dragon swing!

Control:

Try to establish as much tempo as possible and keep Spell Pierceimage open for important board clear turns. You might also play your Planeswalkers a turn later to counter their counter spell with it to ensure your PW sticks.

Establishing Saheeli early and getting tons of tokens off of her helps push tempo in these matches so look for her in the mulligan if possible!

Conclusion:

The deck sometimes feels way over the power level threshold for a budget deck and other matches it feels like there was literally nothing you could do to win.

But it is a fun break from the budget friendly meta decks like mono red aggro or white weenie. It also helps build toward the Jeskai Walkers deck which is seeing competitive play as well.

Hope you enjoy and keep rocking at MTG Arena!
