Learn more Download For WindowsBuilt for the Ravnica Constructed format with the restriction of using cards only from Guilds, Allegiance, and War. Out of two entries so far this list has gone 5-0 and 3-2 with some surprisingly explosive games, although it tends to turn into a topdeck war against matchups with heavy removal.
The general gist of the deck is to ramp quickly with Arboreal Grazers and Paradise Druids into a 5-drop threat, preferably God-Eternal Oketra or Wardscale Crocodile, and then turn our cards sideways. We have God-Eternal Rhonas here for his mini-craterhoof behemoth effect to overwhelm slower decks and force other creature decks to unfavorably trade.
Vivien's Arkbow is amazing for closing out games with his ETB, as we can dump 5+ mana into it each turn to look for Rhonas and get him onto the battlefield without being countered for a huge swing with a full board.
Generous Stray, Beast Whisperer, and Sumala Woodshaper help keep us from running out of creatures in hand with Oketra out and all provide triggers for her effect as well.
Prison Realm, The Wanderer, and Affectionate Indrik function as our removal with The Wanderer pulling double duty as a way to slow down burn decks.
Ajani, the Greathearted can help pull us out of burn range with his +1 or close out games with his -2 and vigilance static ability, while Vivien, Champion of the Wilds can be useful against flyers with her +1 and draw-go control decks with her static ability, with the added upside of helping us dig in a pinch with her -2.
Bounty of Might is our one and only combat trick, but it's a hell of a trick that's powerful enough to pull out "gotcha" wins targeting something as unassuming as an unblocked Paradise Druid.
Ugin, the Ineffable is only really here because I don't have enough impactful creatures to fill out the top of the curve and no wildcards to fix that problem. He helps thin our deck and populate the board with his +1, which is helpful but not game winning most of the time. His -3 is definitely useful when we need the removal as it hits basically every threat in the format that isn't hexproof, but without Ajani on the board at the same time to provide some additional loyalty, it's unlikely we'll get more than one use out that ability each game.
I'm considering a build of the deck that removes Bounty of Might and Ugin, the Ineffable in favor of two copies of Kaya, Bane of the Dead for more exile-removal, but Ugin's ability to hit non-creature permanents is very useful for nuking problem enchantments or planeswalkers. Bounty of Might is also just fun to use, so I'm not sure if it's something I'll be okay with cutting.
