Standard - Jeskai Black Super Friends

Midrange Control

The deck is well groomed to take on Midrange and Aggro, but also put up a decent fight against Control. The mana base feels real nice and is a take from the older Jeskai Black from back in the day. Take the deck for a test run and tell me what you think!!

Strengths:

                Gates decks- Plenty of removal and exile effects to deal with reoccurring effects and enchantments; pretty much a free when if you mulligan into a hand of removal!!! concentrate on exile their 8/8 with either vraska's contempt or Kaya once its in the yard. game 2-3 side in the other Kaya for sure :)

                Aggro Decks- Wrath effects out the woozoo to keep the board clear and plenty of single target removal to deal with straglers. Then drop your Angrath and kin to start taking over the board state with discard+ damage effects and support from your hand or fellow planeswalkers

                Midrange- Your deck has enough removal to take out the key cards and wrath effects and sacrifice effects to have opponent loose those hexproof creatures. Also use your Kaya and other graveyard effects to target the graveyard to stop elements that rebirth from the yard such as "Find" and alike.

                Control- Your deck has enough bombs to come back if hand hate or counterspell is a thing. If one planeswalker sticks such as Angrath or Teferri and they cant answer its GG.

Weakness:

               Gates decks- make sure to get that draw on their end of turn or you will fall behind with Chemisters Insight and also  take out their enchantments quickly with Mortify (Save it for that if you can) Use your exiles on the collosus and the normal removal on the Rams. Angrath will Sac the Ram at the end of the mind control turn. If you see alot of blue build up up, you might get hit with mass mind control effects soon so watch out.

               Aggro decks- Mono Red can just win outright with a bomb hand but dont be afraid to kill a single creature with Deafing Clarion or Kaya's Wrath as taht little tick means alot. You want to get Kaya or Dorin out fast for that little bit of life.  Mono White- Save that mortify for History and Conclaves. Pray for a easy turn three Deafing Clarion into a turn four Kayas Wrath if possible. After that just drop your Angrath and start taking over, as the key to this fight is wraths and hand control as the Mono White player and even the Mono red player will start to loose gas as they are dropping everything to keep up with all the removal you are packing. If they go wide and you cant answer its GG for them so get those wraths out.

              Midrange- If they start comboing off with explores or alike and you can get that removal its pretty much GG as we dont have any main board counter spells. Try to get into the stance of wrath and following it up by hand/graveyard removal combos. Kaya's wrath into a following turn of Angrath and keeping the board clear will when you the game often.

 

             Control-  Our hardest matchup as we dont have main board counterspells. Its a game of  "oh hes tapped out, what a noob, lets play a bomb"  or a game of Bomb  then he answers,  bomb then he answers, bomb,, he fail to answer  GG.   Good luck with this one.

Also If you have any suggestions on additions that you noticed while trying it leave a comment, so far I have a high win percentage with the current meta and win roughly 65%-70sh% of the time. The Deck is a blast as the opponent is confused as to what your playing and how to combat you.

           

 UPDATE:

To save ourselves from  no benifit from an opponent's Assassin's Trophy, I made some changes to the land base se we can at least retrieve a basic or two when they decide to assassinate a Planeswalker or two.

V 3.0  

Due to the need for faster wrath effects and less reason to wipe all enchantments/artifacts I decided to take the cleansing nova out for the faster Kaya's Wrath..  If any of you have any suggestions on additions or changes  or something you want to see in Jeskai Black Super Friends in V 4.0 or War of the Spark, then please leave a comment and TY for your likes and views
