Control Combo

"What the heck is this deck?"

I mean... it's Lukka Combo.

Jokes aside, it's meant to use Lukka's second ability to Polymorph tokens into large creatures. Previously this deck had been Jund with Wishclaw Talisman, that a dark and sad day. When Unpredictable Cyclone was spoiled, this deck became dozens of times better. Now with Caslte, Chandra, or Zirda, you can Lukka into big creatures OR now you Cyclone big creatures into themselves.

The early game for this deck is basic board wipes and other pieces of control. You can often get the combo off on turn 5 if you draw enough lands.

"Why almost no four drops?"

Well, considering Zirda is often the prime sacrifce to Lukka if you don't have tokens, the turn right before you play Lukka is the best turn for Zirda to come down. This deck has a lot of "down time" on not using the max avalible mana that turn. It's very useful for the Triomes.

"Why Zirda?"

It was a little difficult to try and fit Zirda with the deck. We sadly can't run Elpeth Conquer's Death, but in all reality we really don't need to overload the 5 drop slot more than it already is. Plus Zirda works quite well with the numorous cycling cards.

"What's with the janky colors?"

Looking at the color wheel, this deck looks close to being big red. Though when you take a closer look, it just so happens to be that most of the red cards require two devotion. It's really Boros control. Which is a weird thought, but it actually works.

"Did you really splash blue just for a counter spell?"

Yes. And I'm not proud of it. The reality is, that this combo is just too easy to distrupt. Either removing your sacrifice source, detroying cyclone right away, or just removing the big creature. Numorous removal isn't going to help stop any of that, and there aren't any protection spells that diverse.

Splashing a third or fourth color isn't dificult in standard right now, especially with a tri-colored land, that's in our colors, and fits the theme of our deck.

"Why no sideboard?"

Idk mate, why are you asking so many questions? I don't often play best of three, I'm not sure what the new meta will really be, and I always feel underconfidant about what I'd remove from the main deck. Though if you have suggestions or feed back for it, don't be affraid to leave a comment!
