The plan is to self mill in order to hit all the Arclight Phoenix with adventures on steroids using Merchant of the Vale
+ Merfolk Secretkeeper
. Tempo elements from Brazen Borrower
and Bonecrusher Giant
scale up nicely as the game progresses thanks to Lucky Clover
. Unsummon
and Portal of Sanctuary
to replay those adventure cards again. Saheeli, Sublime Artificer
adds another Clover or Creature to the mix using her minus two and makes for a strong chump on the ground defence to set up for the bigger turns. Opt
and Shock
to fill out the cheaper spells to make sure let the Arclight Phoenix rise from the ashes of the graveyard. A couple Emry, Lurker of the Loch
fill a role to both self-mill and dig back a Lucky Clover or Portal of Sanctuary from the yard that may have been pitched earlier. The main sources of damage are our evasive creature threats with a little reach from our burn elements.

Alternate win condition. Mill your opponent. Portal of Sanctuary + Merfolk Secretkeeper + Unsummon. If plan A fails or the deck just draws into an opportunistic Mill setup we can recur our Merfolk Secretkeeper using bounce effects multiplied by each Lucky Clover we have out on the field.
Sideboard options are opened up a crack in game one with all the filter/draw mechanics we have to find a single Fae of Wishes
which provides game one access to the sideboard. Standard colour hate in Aether Gust
and Fry
. Narset, Parter of Veils
is the de-facto hoser against card draw. Flame Sweep
for wide weenie boards and Lava Coil
for bigger threats like Questing Beast
. Niv-Mizzet, Parun
comes in against counter heavy opponents. Tibalt, Rakish Instigator
against lifegain and even decks with a lot of X/1s.
Embereth Shieldbreaker + Sorcerous Spyglass
comes in when up against those grindy sacrifice builds to take out Witch's Oven
. Counter magic like Mystical Disupte was a consideration but we want to dump our spells in the first main phase for the most part to recur our Arclight Phoenix from the yard.
