The Mythic Rare Podcast Episode 7 - The Top 10 Non Oko Decks, Andre Liverod Talks the Downfall of Arena

This week on the Mythic Rare Podcast we talk about the top 10 non Oko decks, one key tip on how to avoid playing Oko all the time, and the CEO of Aetherhub André Liverød joins for the second half of the show!

For the first segment of the show, The Icon Willy B and myself review an article I posted to Aetherhub earlier this week discussing the top 10 non Oko decks in Standard. The Meta game is currently around 67% Oko decks (from the MCQW day 2 lists), which trounces the 40% meta of Field of the Dead. However, the MCQW was only two days after Field of the Dead got banned on Arena, so players did not have very much time to test alternatives. I would expect this meta to drop a little bit in Mythic Championship VI next weekend, however food decks should definitely still dominate the field. This can be an extremely frustrating archetype to play against over and over again, so if you want an alternative check out the decks from the list!

The CEO of Aetherhub André Liverød got a ton of reaction recently when he posted an article titled “The Formats is Getting out of Hand, This Will be the Downfall of MTGA.” In segment 2, (Which can be found around the 27 minute mark), Andre joins the show to talk about this article, some exciting news with future Aetherhub Community Tournaments and much much more! It was great to finally get Andre on the podcast, and if you are a member of Team Aether I definitely recommend checking out this segment!

About the hosts

he Aetherhub Podcast is hosted by Graham Pollard and The Icon Willy B. Graham got into Magic at his summer camp when he was seven and has been playing on and off ever since. Within the last year, however, he has started taking the game much more seriously after getting into MTG Arena. Will is a newer player to the game, who came to Arena after being extremely passionate about E-sports in general, and immediately fell in love with it. The hosts previously ran a regional radio show in Asheville NC, which focused more on sports, pop culture and general trending topics. In addition to Magic, both hosts love Football, college sports and being outdoors. Will is a big anime fan, and Graham enjoys any movie with Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise. Both hosts are super excited in the direction that Magic is heading, and are ecstatic to be a part of Aetherhub and the gaming community as a whole.
